Action Required: Mandatory Use of LiteSpeed Cache & Image Optimisation for WordPress Sites

As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain optimal server performance and to help you get the most out of your hosting plan, we are introducing two important guidelines effective immediately for all WordPress-based websites hosted on MudahHosting.com.

1. LiteSpeed Cache — Mandatory Caching Plugin for WordPress

Our servers run on LiteSpeed Web Server, which includes built-in caching technology that is only fully utilised when paired with the LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress.

Effective immediately, LiteSpeed Cache is the only approved and supported caching plugin on MudahHosting shared hosting servers. The use of alternative caching plugins such as W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, WP Rocket, or similar is not recommended and may result in caching conflicts, degraded performance, or increased server resource consumption.

If you are currently using another caching plugin, we strongly advise you to:

1. Deactivate and uninstall your existing caching plugin.
2. Install and activate LiteSpeed Cache from the WordPress plugin repository.
3. Enable the recommended cache settings within the plugin dashboard.

LiteSpeed Cache is free, actively maintained, and delivers significantly better performance on our servers compared to any alternative. For installation guidance, please refer to the official documentation at docs.litespeedtech.com.

2. CompressX — Image Optimisation to Reduce Bandwidth Usage

Images are typically the largest contributor to website bandwidth consumption. Unoptimised images not only slow down your website but also accelerate your monthly bandwidth usage, which may bring your account closer to fair usage thresholds sooner than necessary.

We strongly recommend all customers use CompressX to compress and optimise images before uploading them to your website. CompressX reduces image file sizes significantly without visible loss in quality, directly reducing the bandwidth your website consumes per visit.

As a general best practice, we also recommend:

• Using WebP format for images where possible, as it offers superior compression over JPG and PNG.
• Avoiding the upload of raw, uncompressed images directly from a camera or design tool.
• Regularly auditing your wp-content/uploads folder and removing unused media files.
