Fair Usage Policy (FUP)
Effective Date: 1 April 2025 | Last Updated: March 2025
MudahHosting.com is committed to providing reliable, high-performance shared hosting services to all our customers. Our hosting plans are advertised as offering Unlimited Bandwidth, which means we do not impose a fixed, hard-capped monthly bandwidth quota under normal usage conditions.
However, shared hosting operates on a shared server environment — meaning all customers on the same server share the server's physical resources including CPU, RAM, disk I/O, and network bandwidth. This Fair Usage Policy (FUP) exists to ensure that no single account consumes resources to a degree that negatively impacts other customers on the same server.
This policy supplements our existing Terms of Service (TOS) and applies to all shared hosting plans offered by MudahHosting.com.
"Unlimited Bandwidth" means:
There is no fixed monthly bandwidth cap applied to your account upfront.
You are not automatically suspended or charged when you reach a specific GB threshold under normal operation.
You are free to grow your website traffic without worrying about overage charges.
"Unlimited Bandwidth" does NOT mean:
You may consume bandwidth in a way that disrupts other customers on the shared server.
You may use your hosting account as a content delivery network (CDN), file distribution platform, or media streaming service.
You may run applications or scripts that generate abnormally high or sustained bandwidth usage.
While we do not enforce a hard limit, accounts that consistently exceed the following indicative thresholds may be flagged for review under this policy:
|
Metric |
Indicative Threshold |
Review Action |
|
Monthly Bandwidth |
200 GB / month |
Account flagged for review |
|
Daily Bandwidth |
10 GB / day |
Throttling may be applied |
|
Hourly Bandwidth Spike |
2 GB / hour sustained |
Throttling may be applied |
|
Concurrent Connections |
Excessive per server norms |
Rate limiting applied |
These thresholds are indicative and not absolute. MudahHosting reserves the right to review any account that shows abnormal usage patterns regardless of whether the above thresholds are met.
The following use cases are considered inconsistent with shared hosting and are prohibited regardless of bandwidth consumed:
Video streaming websites or services (YouTube-style, live streaming, etc.)
Large-scale file hosting, sharing platforms, or download portals
Image hosting services open to the general public
Torrent seeding, peer-to-peer file distribution, or mirror sites
Backup storage services or cloud storage platforms
Serving large binary files (videos, ISOs, large archives) directly from your hosting account
Cryptocurrency mining or any bandwidth-intensive background process
Running bots, scrapers, or automation scripts that generate high outbound traffic
Customers with legitimate business needs in these categories should contact us to discuss dedicated or VPS hosting options that are better suited for such workloads.
MudahHosting follows a tiered approach when addressing accounts that exceed fair usage. We aim to notify and assist customers before taking restrictive action.

We are happy to work with customers to identify the source of high usage and provide guidance on optimisation. Customers with consistently high legitimate traffic needs will be advised on suitable plan upgrades.
If your website genuinely attracts high traffic volumes, we encourage you to:
Implement a Content Delivery Network (CDN) such as Cloudflare to offload static assets and reduce bandwidth on your hosting account.
Enable browser caching and GZIP compression to reduce per-visit data transfer.
Optimise images and media files on your website.
Contact us to discuss upgrading to a VPS or dedicated hosting plan that offers dedicated bandwidth resources.
MudahHosting reserves the right to update this Fair Usage Policy at any time. Changes will be published at mudahhosting.com/fair-usage-policy and customers will be notified via email where material changes are made. Continued use of MudahHosting services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
This Fair Usage Policy forms part of and must be read together with MudahHosting's Terms of Service (TOS). In the event of any conflict between this FUP and the TOS, the TOS shall prevail. All enforcement actions under this policy are also subject to the provisions of the TOS.
